Glendale Arizona

Glendale Arizona real estate offers many charming older neighborhoods as well as newer developments. Glendale homes in the older neighborhoods (homes built in the 1970's) start at about $180,000, and often have bigger yards than the newer homes. Like horses? There are some horse properties in Glendale (usually at an acre or less) as well as homes with ½ to 1 acre that give you room to roam, horse or not.

Glendale is the new home for the NFL Arizona Cardinals football stadium, which was recognized as one of the top 10 sporting Glendale Stadiumstructures in the world by BusinessWeek Magazine. At 63,000 seats, this behemoth building boasts of a retractable roof and a retractable playing field, and will be hosting the 2008 Super Bowl. Around the stadium, multipurpose development called Westgate will host dining, shopping, entertainment, office space and Glendale real estate choices (condos and lofts) all in one area, convenient to the NFL stadium. The Glendale Arena (home to the Coyotes Ice Hockey team and many great concerts is also within the Westgate area. If you want to be in the middle of the action, this area will be for you. Contact me for more information on Westgate real estate opportunities.

A surprising departure from strip malls, Glendale Arizona's old town (59th and Glendale Avenues) is an eclectic mix of small eateries and stores. Historic Old Town Glendale was voted one of the 10 best places to shop for antiques by Sunset magazine. More than 90 specialty shops keep this area just about chain-free. Stop by the visitor's center at 5800 W. Glenn Drive, Suite 140, for a map and to start your walking tour of the area.

In another surprising turn, Glendale Arizona is home to a zip code that has one of the state's highest median incomes. The Arrowhead area is in north Glendale and real estate there is priced from $300,000 to over a million.
