Private and Charter Schools Offer Choice for Anthem Schools

Anthem students now have more choices for school than ever with the addition of several private and charter schools serving Anthem and other area students.

North Valley Christian Academy has been in operation for several years now, and serves students up to 8th grade. The school is housed in the very convenient Lutheran Church on Gavilan Peak next to Boulder Creek High School. The school has generous outdoor areas and a gymnasium

Great Hearts Academy charter school, known as Anthem Preparatory School is new this year, and as a charter school, is free for students. Great Hearts academies are known for their rigorous classical education policies, and have been very popular in Scottsdale and the east valley.

Caurus Academy is also a charter school, but with the montessori style of teaching. Caurus is available for students from K-8.

the Caepe School is a small private school with K-9 grades taught. Student-teacher ratio is 8:1, so your student will get lots of individual attention.

3 Anthem Schools Earn Top “Excelling” Designation

Diamond Canyon School, Gavilan Peak School and Boulder Creek High School all earned the “Excelling” designation for the 2009/2010 school year, the highest designation awarded by the Arizona Department of Education.
Anthem School brought home the “Highly Performing” designation.
Though designations are only part of evaluating whether the school is right for your student, it is one measure of a school’s performance. I help my home buying clients gather the important research they need if school choice is an important factor in determining where to live.

Directions to Anthem AZ

To get to Anthem, Arizona in the North Valley: Anthem is about 17 miles north of Highway 101 on I-17. Once you pass Carefree Highway on I-17, you can exit on Daisy Mountain road, which is often used by residents as a closer route to many homes, or on Anthem Way 1 mile north, which is a better exit to reach most commerce and the Anthem Community Center. Head east (right) for the Anthem Country Club, the Anthem Community Center, restaurants and the Safeway Grocery store and shops. Turn west (left) for the Outlets at Anthem, Wal-Mart, auto repair and other commerce as well as more homes.
