Most likely, you and the agent you interview will say that a buyer found their home through the buyer’s agent showing them properties. This is the top way to find homes according to a National Association of Realtors poll, with 36% of buyers using this method. But what about the second most popular way to find a home? Perhaps they’ll say “driving by”. True, 15% find their home by yard signs. Most other methods garner only a small percentage of buyers. But the second most popular way to find a home is through the internet, with 24% of all buyers discovering their purchased home in this manner.
